{"id":22784,"date":"2008-05-02T15:12:44","date_gmt":"2008-05-02T13:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.minocp.gov.gr\/?p=22784"},"modified":"2021-12-17T17:15:02","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T15:15:02","slug":"25-01-2006-useful-advice-to-the-citizens-for-adverse-weather-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stage-minocp.dataqube.gr\/en\/2008\/05\/02\/25-01-2006-useful-advice-to-the-citizens-for-adverse-weather-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"25-01-2006: Useful advice to the citizens for adverse weather conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">HELLENIC\u00a0POLICE\u00a0FORCE\u00a0HEADQUARTERS\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"right\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Athens,\u00a025\/01\/2006,<\/span><\/div>\n<div>PRESS RELEASE<\/div>\n<div>Due to the adverse weather conditions, the Hellenic Police Force advices the citizens to be extremely cautious in outdoor spaces.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Advice\u00a0to\u00a0pedestrians:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Be very careful when you walk, especially during the night or early in the morning, since it is highly probable that the streets will be frozen.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that you wear proper shoes before leaving your house.<\/li>\n<li>Try to use public transport.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid walking on the frosty parts of roads and pavements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Advice to drivers:<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Equip your vehicle with special gear (non-skid tire chains).<\/li>\n<li>Always use the non-skid tire chains, whenever special conditions prevail (frozen road etc).<\/li>\n<li>Always wear your seat belt.<\/li>\n<li>Learn the latest news about the weather and the situation on the road network, before starting your journey.<\/li>\n<li>Check the smooth operation of the systems of your vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have enough gas.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce speed and leave enough distance from the vehicle before you, in order to be able to stop in safety.<\/li>\n<li>Do not hit hard on the breaks, since you then risk to deviate from your course.
