{"id":22603,"date":"2008-05-08T12:14:49","date_gmt":"2008-05-08T10:14:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.minocp.gov.gr\/?p=22603"},"modified":"2021-12-20T09:41:58","modified_gmt":"2021-12-20T07:41:58","slug":"23-11-2005-inaugural-meeting-of-the-board-of-directors-of-the-center-for-security-studies-ke-me-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stage-minocp.dataqube.gr\/en\/2008\/05\/08\/23-11-2005-inaugural-meeting-of-the-board-of-directors-of-the-center-for-security-studies-ke-me-a\/","title":{"rendered":"23-11-2005: Inaugural meeting of the Board of Directors of the Center for Security Studies (KE.ME.A.)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>MINISTRY<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>OF<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>PUBLIC<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>ORDER<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>PRESS OFFICE<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"right\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>Athens<\/b><b>,\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><b>23<\/b><b>\/11\/2005<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><b>PRESS RELEASE<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Today (23-11-05), at 11H00, the first meeting of the Center for Security Studies was held, in the presence of the Minister of Public Order Mr. George Voulgarakis.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Head of\u00a0KE.ME.A. and Chairman of the Board of Directors, retired Police Lieutenant General Mr. Vassilios Konstantinidis, the Deputy Head of the Center and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, lawyer Mr. George Maris and the following members of the Board attended the meeting:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Mr. Iakovos Farsedakis, Professor of Criminology, Panteion University of Athens,<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Stamatios Georgoulis, Professor of International Law, National Military School,<\/li>\n<li>Mr. George Kanellos, Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Police Force,<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Andreas Kois, Police Lieutenant General, Deputy Chief A` of the Fire Brigade,<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Serafeim Tsitsibis, Deputy Chief A` of the National Intelligence Service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Organizational and operational issues of the Center for Security Studies were mainly discussed in this meeting.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Furthermore, another matter of discussion was the cooperation between the Center for Security Studies and the People`s Republic of China on security issues in view of the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, especially after the recent signature of the Memorandum of Understanding on this field, between the Ministry of Public Order and the Coordinating Committee on security issues of the 29<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Olympic Games of China (Beijing, 3-11-2005).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">At the end of the meeting the Minister Mr. Voulgarakis stated the following: &#8220;<i>On this first meeting at the Center for Security Studies we had the opportunity to discuss important issues regarding the Centers human resources and infrastructure, not to mention its strategic objectives.
