The General Secretary of the Ministry of Public Order Mr. Leonidas Evaggelidis met today (8-11-05) with the Special Rapporteur of the UN Human Rights Commission Mr. Juan Miguel Petit.
\nDuring this meeting, issues related to child trafficking, prostitution and pornography were mainly discussed. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Public Order with the participation of competent officials from the Hellenic Police Force Headquarters.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Mr. Evaggelidis made special reference to the legislative framework of our country regarding minors as well as the actions undertaken by the Hellenic Police Force in this field.
\nThe General Secretary pointed out how important it is for the Greek Police Authorities to provide protection and security to minors as well as to raise awareness within the police staff when dealing with minors (for instance, circular orders, seminars, staff education and training).<\/p>\n
